Faith without deeds is dead ??

“Now that I have seen, I am responsible, because faith without deeds is dead” (Albertine by Brooke Fraser)

Every time I watch news about Syria and other countries I have the same question… God what I’m doing? How can I be so selfish and care just about me? How can it be? People are dying around the world and I am here thinking just about myself!! Come on!! You know what? I got tired…

That said, my story begins …. –> 3 years ago I started to serve in my local church. Those years have been the most impacting, incredible, joyful and amazing years that I have ever imagined. I’ve learned more in those 3 years than I have in my entire life… We started working with feeding centers for kids in the poor barrios in Alajuelita, and for 1 year now God has given us the opportunity do the homeless feeding center every Thursday. I’ve worked with youth groups, girls, and kids both at church and feeding centers. However, I’ve never experienced the amazing gift to work with the homeless and even refugees on the border. There is not enough time to tell all the stories behind those people. Their eyes can tell you more stories than their minds can remember…. Pain, fear, shame, depression, disillusion, emptiness, frustration, guilt, hopelessness, loneliness, and feeling worthless. You know what? I got tired! I Got tired of my comfort zone, to knowing that outside there’s a lot of need to know about God and his love and mercy and I do nothing. I got tired knowing I can do more and at the end I was doing nothing.. Thinking about this, a question came to my mind… What does God wants from us? Are we on earth just to grow up, get married, have kids, and die? Is that it? We can see and feel him in every step along the way. We can see him through pain, joy, tragedies and triumphs. He wants us to be sensitive towards others. He wants us to feel and have compassion and mercy. We are often focused on us, and everything is for us and to us. It is never enough. What do we give to others? Giving is: Whatever you can give, you give it without expecting something back. It is not how much you have, it is what you can give. God doesn’t want ability. God wants availability! We are here to help each other no matter what! To support and encourage.. To be selfless and remind others God is good all the time, in every season, in every moment and He is with us not only in our triumphs but also in our tragedies. Grace, is all about grace! We need to see Jesus’ love in others face, and give them back their value. Because even Jesus came to serve and not to be served!

“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15. ??
