So right now I’m sitting in the Brisbane airport with three of my squad mates, waiting to board our plane to Bali, Indonesia. We are discussing our finances and where we are at with our trip costs. I mention that I still need a little over 4,000 dollars to meet my final deadline. Up until this point I have not mentioned to anybody about donating money to my trip except to my Church and Chiropractor. I figured asking people would make me look “desperate” or say I am “begging” for money and that’s not the impression I want to give people because it’s not true. I said this thought out loud and one of my squad mates says, “Are you trying to please God or people?”….. that hit me like a ton of bricks….. My whole life I have been raised to work for everything and be apart of the individualistic society. Now, I am NOT saying that working for money isn’t what’s right because I believe it is. But, I also believe that the money I make isn’t just my money, but God’s money too. With that being said I have donated to other people’s missions but have never asked for anybody to support me because I’ve held onto my pride.
SO I want to ask you guys to be apart of this journey with me and help me to travel the world, loving on people and giving them hope. I am asking for your help. Please do not feel any pressure or obligation, just if you feel led to.
2 Corinthians 9:7 “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
