This trip is what I have been waiting and preparing for. I have always had a heart that’s on the move. When I was young I would spend a week of my summer at this church camp, Camp Koinonia. We would learn about Jesus, worship, spend time outside, and would just be on the move. I loved going there and looked forward to the next summer when I could go and do something other than being in my house.

After that a new season came about when I started going to a new church, Oakriver Church. There the youth would go on annual mission trips. I was missing Camp Koinonia and that aspect of being on the move and doing something. So, I was super happy to have some summer trip back in my life, and I immediately fell in love with mission trips. We were going out and doing something, not just to have fun, or just because we were bored. But to just go out and help people. However, after 5 mission trips I wanted to stay somewhere longer than just a week. I wanted to do more at each place I went.

One day when during a devotion I looked at a bracelet that says “OF ALL NATIONS”, which is our call from God, to go make disciples of all nations. As I was staring at my bracelet I felt this huge urge to move, and heard God say “Go.” So, after that I started looking for longer mission trips. But I would get let down when they were just 1 month. Then I stumbled upon World Race and they had 2 month long mission trips and I just fell in love, it was actually 2 months long and I was going to two different places. Also, we would actually connecting with people, compared to building, which is something I’m not fond of. Since I found World Race, it has been going well with the application process and I knew God wanted me on this trip.
