Dear Friends and Family,
I hope that this letter finds you doing well. I’m very excited to be writing you to tell you about what has been going on in my life recently. God has really been working in me and I’ve felt the call to go out to the mission field. I’ve prayerfully considered various possibilities, but I was fascinated when I found the World Race led by Adventures in Missions I felt a peace about pursuing this possibility and I’m excited to report I have been accepted into the trip and I will be leaving January 2010!
The World Race is an 11 month long mission trip to 11 different countries. The program involves adventure, ministry, community, self discovery, and growth. We will be living in tents and out of our backpacks as we serve people all over the world. We will partner with established ministries in the places we visit doing various jobs. We will be caring for orphans, encouraging those suffering from HIV, teaching English to children in schools, feeding the hungry, and most importantly sharing God’s love with people wherever we go.
I’ve had the desire in my heart to work overseas in some form of ministry for some time now, but never felt that I was being led to a particular area of the world or a particular ministry. When I found the World Race and prayed about it I knew that this was where God wanted me. My heart is for children who are in need of someone to love them. I hope to share the love of Jesus with the kids I meet around the world and show them that they are special. I’m excited that the World Race will give me this opportunity.
I can’t make this trip happen alone though. I am going to need your support. I ask you to join with me in prayer now as I prepare to leave and when I am out on the mission field in 2010. I’m also in need of your financial support as I will need to raise about $17,000 to cover training, lodging, food, travel expenses, and medical costs. Please prayerfully consider either making a one time gift or donating monthly. Any amount will help out so give whatever you can. If 95 people pledge to give $15 a month for just one year then I will have raised my whole amount. You can donate by returning the card in the pre-addressed envelope included in this letter to Adventures in Missions (AIM), or by going to my web page and clicking on the “Support Me” link, or helping out in another way. Such as donating free airline miles to get me to our starting point and back to Columbia City from our ending point in the US. After donating AIM will send you a receipt.

Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures In Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. I am very excited to discover how God will use me and what He will teach me through this experience. I pray that I will not only be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you as I share the exciting work of missionaries around the world.
