I want to introduce you to a woman who we met teh first week in Targu Mures at our church service and who we have quickly grown to love.  This blog was created by my friend Lindsey, but she really describe our first meeting with her so well I’m reposting it.

Please meet..

Maria.

I met her last night….and she stole my heart.
She is 65.
She is a Hungarian living in Romania
She is lonely.
She is struggling.
She can’t afford her medicine.
She, too, was created in God’s image.

I love divine appointments that shake my HEART and that teach me a thing or two in the process.

People and things will always let us down.

Our health will let us down.

Our family will let us down.

Our friends will let us down.

These things have proved true for Maria.

In the last few years she has had
serious health problems
Serious surgeries.

Last year she spent over 2 months in the hospital for a stroke

One person visited. Once.

She still has serious health problems
and no community.

*Last night we held a church service in Targu-Mures, Romania. She arrived before we did.*

She make it clear in her eyes that
she was not “okay.”

Her HEART was crying out to be…..
Loved.
  Cared for.
          Prayed for.
HEALED.

[I can love her. I can pray for her. I can care for her. I can walk her to the bus stop daily. I can pray for healing and
I can even pay for her medicine.
That doesn’t fix the problem.
God is the ONLY one who can fulfill us. He knows the depths of our heart and what we need.]
[HE IS LOVE. HE desires to be our COMFORTER.]

Maria is lonely but is NOT alone.
God is right next her.
He is her LOVER.
He is her COMFORTER.
He is her REFUGE.
He can be yours too.

*[God wants us to trust in Him in ALL SITUATIONS AND SEASONS.
Psalm 147:11 tells us that He is delighted when we put our trust in Him.]*

Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
