This is the state motto for my favorite place in the world to spend part of my summer……MAINE! I’ve been going up here for 6 years now and I love it. My best friend from college family owns and rents out cottages up in North Waterford, ME in the summer and fall and I’ve been blessed to spend a few weeks each year up there.
I’ve done some cool stuff while I’ve been up there, drove up Mt. Washington the highest peak in the northeast, taken the mail boat out around the harbor in Portland, seen the flagship L.L. Bean store, driven over to New Hampshire for some good tax free outlet shopping, but mostly I love just being at the lake and hanging out. Spending my mornings on the front porch drinking tea and reading, taking a random canoe ride around the lakes, or a hike up a nearby mountain. This is what I love most. I countdown the days until I will head back again the next summer.

This year it hit me though, I won’t be spending any time in Maine next year. In fact instead of swimming in the cool (I should probably change that to COLD) clear Maine lake I will be living somewhere in Africa where I am guessing it will be much drier. It will be quite the switch to what I’m use to. I will miss this time with my family and with my friend as we always makes sure we are both up there at the same time. Still though I will miss it all so much I know that the plans God has for me are better…..even better than Maine. I know that I’m following His will for my life by going on this mission trip around the world to minister to people and learn so much more about God and how amazing He is. Still I’m not gonna lie, I’m going to miss this trip next year. The Lake off our beach, beautiful right?
Still AI am excited about what is to come for me as well as the rest of the team come January. We will see, and do and learn some amazing wonderful hard, challenging, things. It is going to be hard and fantastic all at the same time!!!
