After a few crazy days of nonstop traveling and white water rafting Team Dinosaur (as we affectionately refer to ourselves as these days) arrived in Lire,
Uganda. We are the only team who is far from all the other teams. We are okay with this however. We are up in northern Uganda and we have learned a lot about the recent history of this area. Up until two years ago there was a twenty-five year old war that had been going on. If you have heard of Joseph Conni and the Invisible Children movement then you have an idea of the things that went on here. Most of the population of this area were in camps. Things here were not good and many people experienced horrible things. Still the believers here hung on to their faith in the Lord and are doing things to change their communities for the better. So you probably want to know what we are doing here. We are working with the Anglican Church in the area and most of our time here we are traveling to other areas of the district. We are excited to see a schedule, something we’ve not seen in a long time and practically unheard of for Africa. When we visit a village area we are minister in the schools, and prisons, and usually participate in an open air crusade of some type. Though I enjoy the chance to see these different places and to minister in different areas I do wish we had the chance to really interact and invest with a group of people. This month will be a lot of seeing people once or maybe twice and then leaving. Though our time with them is brief I pray that we are able to make some sort of difference in their lives.
