I forgot how to resize photos in this thing and I am too tired to do it right now. So please forgive the giant pictures.
Remember how I told you I intended
to write lots of blogs? Uhm…yeah…sorry I
failed. I actually did write a few
blogs, but they no longer really apply so they will go live in the archives of
my computer somewhere. I did however
feel inspired today to share about life since what February of last year and
update you on life as it currently is. Will I update as much as I did on the race….don’t bet on it. Will I try to actually update some on what
the Lord is teaching me and doing in my life. Yes I will try. No promises
though, but I do want to try to keep this up some.
My first goal is to update you in
a quick bulleted fashion on what I’ve been doing with life. Here goes.
-Went and lived in Michigan for about four
months. Great living with my sister and
brother in law. Fantastic having a great
World Race friend five minutes away to process through life with upon coming
home. Job, not so hot. It was less focused on the kids and more
focused on putting as many kids in the room as we could to get as much money as
we could. Not my idea of good practice
and after four months I had enough and left.

-Moved back to Indiana with my
parents. Spent a summer deciding what to
do and looking for a job. Many
possibilities arose, but I felt led to stay in town there. I found great ministries to be a part
of. Some for a summer some more long
term. Some even with international
refugees that was nice to get a taste of the rest of the world even though I
was in small town Indiana.
-God provided a fantastic job as
an after school site coordinator for the YMCA. Not a ton of hours, but an amazing boss and a good job.
-Via this job I met a fantastic
person who became my best friend and roommate. She’s not a racer, but she has the heart and mind of a racer and has
lived overseas and so we understand one another very well and being one
another’s community was the best thing about the year.

-Dated a guy for awhile, but
realized that we were not a good match as I want to go back overseas and he
does not have that desire.
-In January got offered the chance
to maybe have my dream job. Working with
an adoption agency assessing orphans academically. Traveling overseas to assess them (and spend
quality time hanging out with them) and then coming stateside to write reports
for future parents and schools based on my assessments. Possible interview in summer.
-Started to work at camp as a
cook. Different sort of summer as a cook
and not a counselor as I was use to, but it was good even within the days we
had equipment break down and food not turn out and all the other things that
happened.
-Found out I need to be debt free
to work for the organization doing my dream job. It was a blow, but the Lord is showing me he
has plans for me.
Wow, it’s funny you don’t realize
just how much has happened until you write it all out, even if you have lived
it out.
I became an aunt for the first time! Levi is the most amazing little guy ever, I can’t wait to spoil him. I already love him so much!

So now what you may ask?
Short answer, I’m going to
continue working for the YMCA as the after school site coordinator. I’m not sure how long that will be fore. I do not feel that at this moment my call is
to stay here in Indiana. I feel like it is
elsewhere. The Lord is starting to
reveal some things to my heart that may come to fruition, but I do not have a
solid answer right now. As things come
together more I promise to update with what is next.
Again sorry for my complete fail
on updating this thing, but I will try to be better about it. Maybe even a blog a month. J
