Team MannaFest is in Tegucigalpa, Honduras for the month and for it only being day 4 here, we've already been provided for and blessed by God in a very evident way!

Let me give you a few facts about Tegucigalpa and the race before I tell you how He's been showing off this week:

  1. Part of the $15,500 each racer raises (still $8,600 away 😉 ) goes to pay for lodging at our ministry site

  2. We are the first S-Squad team to go to this Unsung Hero site for the World Race

  3. Outdoor tent living really IS common on the world race

  4. Food budget, although enough, does limit the availability for a variety of foods for meals.

  5. Tegucigalpa doesn't have daily running water. Running water is only available 2-3 days a week max if you have city water (which is what we're depending on for the month?)

  6. Washing machines usually consist of your hands on a washboard. Since we didn't get here until day 2 of 2 on days we have running water and not washing clothes since the week before, washing all of our clothes didn't seem like a feasable option until the next water day.

Let  me tell you how my God loves to spoil His children:

  1. We do not have any lodging costs this month. At all.

  2. The people we have met these past 4 days have been the most generous, Jesus-filled people I've ever met. If we weren't doing unsung heroes this month, I probably wouldn't have met them.

  3. We are living out of our tent. Kind of. We are living indoors and using our tents as mosquito nets. Can you say dry during the rain????

  4. The woman we have been helping these past couple days (building a roof for her house) has provided cold water to drink, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for us even though we were prepared to eat dry cereal and sandwiches without a complaint. She told me she's blessed by the fact that we enjoyed her authentic Honduran foods, too!!!

  5. We prayed over the water of the house on Friday (the day after the water was off), and by the time we got home from working on the roof on Saturday, the water was on long enough for us to refill everything, take showers, and flush the toilet on every bathroom visit for the day! (if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down has been our bathroom water motto while we're limited on water supply)

  6. The same woman that's been feeding us not only has a real washing machine, but also insisted on washing the rest of our clothes that we weren't able to wash because of the limited water supply. I'm wearing clean clothes from head to toe as I write this, folks.

We as a team have also been able to spend team time via feedback and a movie night. Our feedback sessions have been absolutely incredible and we've already grown so much closer since being here.

Free WiFi this month, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, God is so freaking good. He has provided food, water, and shelter in a way that none of us could have ever expected or asked for and continues to provide us with joyful hearts and strong-willed spirits to keep going strong on this mission.

Day 4 and I'm already in love with Honduras. Let's see what the rest of the month has in store!
