Dear Friends and Family,
For the past 3 years I have been furthering my education at Malone University in Canton, Ohio. I am now in my senior year at Malone and the question that keeps coming up is: “What are you going to do when you graduate?” I have always had the passion for traveling and for going on mission trips; I have only been on a couple of mission trips but I have gained so much from them. God has given me a heart for learning about different cultures and a desire to spread His love to many nations. So after doing some research online, I came across the World Race. After spending some time on their website I became very drawn to this opportunity and I felt that God was going to fulfill my passions through this trip and that this was the plan that He had for me after I graduated.
The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries. One of the driving forces behind the Race is love: loving God and loving others. It involves adventure, ministry, community, self-discovery and growth. It is a trip that will prepare my generation and future generations to become disciples of Christ. Each day on the Race will be different. We will have a chance to partner with churches and ministries in local communities, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many different people.
I know there will be many challenges that I will face as I go on this Race but as the preparation for this journey begins, one of my biggest challenges is my financial support. Like most other mission organizations, I am required to fundraise financial support. In order to be fully funded by September 1, 2014, I will need to raise $16,285. My goal is to contribute $5000 of my own money to this race and I am trusting God to help me raise the rest. I want you to know that I am not looking for a free handout; I want you to be a partner in this next stage of my life. If I have 100 people pledge $10 monthly for a year that will put me at my goal! I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope which invites you to share in this ministry. This amount is intimidating but I know with your support and with God’s help, I will be able to reach that goal.
I am very excited to see how God will use me and what he will teach me through this experience. I pray that I will not only be a blessing to those I come in contact with, but also to you. I hope that you will join me in this experience whether it is through prayer or financial support.
