Debriefing here in Antigua, Guatemala over our first ministry from Palenque, Mexico has been at times challenging and at other times a reprieve.   We’re partnering with YWAM here.  Antigua is the Europe of Guatemala.  Cafes on every corner, beautiful fountains and cathedrals — which I’ve already taken full advantage of.  I’ve been able to watercolor and sketch my way into resting and admiring the Lord’s creation.  Sketching in the park in front of the cathedral has brought people to me.  They ask questions and through that, I was able to talk to the about life and God.  Everyone has an idea about what beauty is and is not.  God designed all people to be attracted to beauty, to be drawn to aesthetically pleasing works of creation.  Beauty has pattern and order.  The Lord is the God of order and hence beauty, and ultimately, He desires all people to be drawn to Him through what brings order and intrigue.
