First off, I’m going to go ahead and admit that I have the best squad ever. Yep, I said it and I meant it. After we all finished our month of ministry in Ukraine, we took trains and planes to Bucharest, Romania. (I’m also proud to say that I’ve now been to 4 countries within the last month – Paris, Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania..woo!) I have been so excited to see my squad since we left each other.
We all stayed at Casa Shalom and it was amazing. Basically, it was like a family reunion. To think that I only met these 53 people over 2 months ago blows my mind. They are so full of life, so full of Christ’s love that it just flows out of them. It’s such a refreshing feeling…I’m smiling just thinking about them.
We were able to cook for eachother, play lots of card games – yay for almost the whole squad now knowing how to play Euchre!, eat together, worship together and talk and get to know eachother and how God’s been working in all of our lives. It’s amazing how similar yet different we all are. Most of us seemed to have our own plans, but God showed us another way. The best part is, we all said yes.
We are all craving a more intimate relationship with God. We all have different experiences that have made us who we are but don’t define us. We are God’s children. We all seek to know Him better. We all seek to serve Him. To become more like Him. To be challenged so that so we may be shaped into who He wanted us and created us to be.
I know that I have made some of the best friends that I’ll ever have. Through the short time we’ve known eachother, we’ve had to chance to go so deep into our lives. We’ve been able to open up and share things that people our whole life may not know. We are able to do this because we know that God put us all here for a reason. We can’t fully love eachother if we don’t fully know eachother…the good and the bad.
I am so thankful for my squad. I cannot wait to see everyone again in Ireland!
