We’ll be taking a 7 hr busride across the bumpiest road in possibly the world to Mbeya tomorrow, and then we’ll be hopping back on the bus for a quick 13 hour busride to Dar Es Salaam, and theen we’ll be back on the bus for another short 12 hour bus ride to Nairobi, Kenya once again for our squad debrief/Christmas celebration J
After our squad time, we’ll be hopping on a plane and heading to Thailand for the month of December. I really have no idea what to expect in Asia, but I’m sure it’ll be grand J
It’s crazy that our time in Africa is already done! Man, time flies…speaking of flies, I’ve never been surrounded by so many for soo looong! aaah the frustration! haha but anywho, God has taught me so much these past few months. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to speak to just about any size group of people, whether the group consists of 5 yr olds, 20 yr olds, or 50 yr olds, without more than a moment’s notice without feeling the least bit of nervousness from here on out haha Thanks, Africa!
I’ve seen more joy in Africa that any other place I’ve been – including the U.S. The people here walk around smiling, the hobby of 95% of people here is singing and dancing for the Lord, they don’t base their relationships around their schedules, they base their schedules around their relationships of those in their family and community. They are also the most hospitable, gracious people I’ve ever known.
Man, we’ve got a lot to learn from them.
as I’m writing this, Celine Dion is blaring outsite…Haha man, I gotta tell you…Africa LOVES Celine Dion music from the 90’s. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard it blasting outside at neighbors houses at the crack of dawn, in cars that drive by, basically anywhere and everywhere. Oh man, that’s good stuff. Africa, I’ll miss you <3
