God is so incredible.
The almighty, all-powerful, holy God
whose ways are high above ours,
whose thoughts are beyond our thoughts,
loves us.
He cares for us.
He cares so much for His creation that He doesn't leave us to die. He doesn't leave us abandoned. He makes us whole. He replaces the death in us with His life. His Spirit.
How incredible.
What a beautiful love.
A few days ago, I saw this love in action.
In a way I had never experienced before.
This past Thursday was our first day of ministry here in Nyagatare, Rwanda.
We spend a few hours every morning, going door-to-door, preaching the gospel, proclaiming the love of Christ.
We did the exact same thing last month in Uganda.
Personally, I was a little burnt out on door-to-door.
It's very taxing, physically and spiritually.
Needless to say, I was not at all thrilled to begin this month.
What a terrible attitude.
So there I was.
Dragging my feet around town,
trying my best to be attentive and focused on the Lord.
We come to an older woman's home and she invites us in.
Her name is Margaret.
She is a devout catholic who loves Jesus.
We sat and listened to how much she loves God.
She told us how encouraged she is to see younger people so dedicated to Jesus.
After awhile, we asked her how we could pray for her.
Margaret began to tell us about a car accident she had long ago.
She was in the hospital for two years and was not able to walk well at all.
However, the Lord healed her and she was able to walk with the aid of a cane.
'Can we pray for your leg?'
'Oh yes please.'
We surrounded Margaret and covered her in prayer
After we prayed, Sabrina asked if she was feeling any better.
And Scott told her to stand up.
She stood, hesitantly,
she stomped her foot a little bit
and was taken aback by what she felt.
Margaret walked around the room,
leaving her cane on the wall next to the chair she sat in.
No more cane!
She is free!
She can walk!
God is so good.
God is healer.
There was nothing super special about that day.
I barely even wanted to be doing ministry!
There was nothing super special about our prayers.
There are no magic words.
There wasn't a bolt of lightning
or great rush of wind.
Just faith.
And calling upon the Lord.
And He showed up.
It's purely the Father loving His children.
It's the kingdom of God coming down.
Praise the Lord for His healing!
Praise the Lord for His love!
I am in awe of His love.
God is good.
All the time.
