Hellllllllllllo! Welcome to my first blog post! Starting in September, I will be living out of my backpack for the next 11 months. Yeah, thats right, my closet will now be a backpack. My tent will now be my house, and my matress.. well, that will be a sleeping pad thats only 1.5 inches thick.. Yikes. Its going to be uncomfortable, its going to be scary, and its definitely going to be smelly… but its going to be my home.
So why would I trade my house, a real closet, and a real bed for this? Simple. When God calls you to do something, you obey. Why? Because this isn’t my life. It’s God’s life. How I got to this point is a little complicated. But I know that this is where I’m being led. I will go into further detail in future blog posts.. But for now, just know that our plans don’t always add up to God’s plans. His are way bigger (and better!) than our own. As hard as it is to realize sometimes, its the truth.
Now, I bet you’re wondering which countries I will be calling home for the following year. So here they are:
Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica
Japan, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia
Swaziland, Zimbabwe/Botswana, and South Africa!
God is good! Wouldn’t you agree?
