Our plans for our off day yesterday were “spoiled”.  We originally had plans of going to Boquett, a city in the mountains, and doing extravagant things like zip lining and drinking the “worlds best coffee”, as well as celebrating one of our sweet teammate’s 25th birthday.  However, sometimes your plans don’t always work out.  Rather than leaving yesterday morning to go to Boquette with a few of the girls from the other team, we stayed at our house because one of the girls wasn’t feeling well.  No one had to stay here, they could have gone with the other team, but no one had to be convinced to stay either.  We each individually decided to stay to be with her.  And there was no sense of bitterness nor frustration.  Our house was still filled with smiles and laughter, of teamwork and of unity.  We’re still a team, extravagant or not.

We set up our hammocks and just lounged and bonded all day.  Some of us with facemasks on, because that’s just what happens on all girl teams.

As Bob Goff says in Love Does, “You don’t need a plan, you just need to be present.”

Here’s to a year of the unknown, let us be ever present and ever joyful!
