Here it is people, a photo blog!

I am excited to share these photos with you because a) the internet is fast enough to upload several photos and b) Western China is filled with awestruck landscapes.

We ended up traveling from the Kunming in south east China, up to Lanzhou in north west China.

We had smaller teams this month and stopped in cities of our choosing [and Papa’s leading[ along the way.

First stop for my team [later named Hot Noodles because of all the noodle soup we ate] . . .

Next stop was Lijiang. Here we stayed a couple rainy days then got the opportunity to hike!

The first day was rainy and overcast, but after about 4 hours of hiking on and off rain, the skies started to clear.

Tiger Leaping Gorge was a highlight for me and a sight I had to stare at with jaw dropped.

Let your jaw drop at these sights…

I wouldn’t mind the view from this humble abode.

Is this China or Europe?!

Evening view out the window of our hostel room. Unreal.

We hiked for about 6 hours one day, stayed at a hostel with this mountain as our view.
This was the rooftop we ate dinner and breakfast on. WOW.

What did the goat say when he saw 5 white girls in his path?
Heeeeeeeeyyyyyy

Next stop was Shangrila. The city was recently renamed; its original name is Zhongdian.

An exploration we did was take a gondola up a mountain. Many Chinese brought portable oxygen tanks with them [because of the climb in elevation]. The temperature at the top was probably low 30s. Brr!!! It was beautiful but I was ready to get back to the warm. And I was not affected by the elevation change….strong lungs over here. haha!

All the flags on top of this mountain are Buddhist prayer flags. These flags were a common sight as we traveled through China.

Overland travel this month = 2000+ miles. [at least from what google told me]

That’s a lot of road and train tracks, hours of sitting and waiting and going. Haha
