We have jumped right into ministry here in Moldova! We met with our translator on Tuesday and went straight to the Church we’re working with to meet the Pastor and tell about ourselves and share our testimonies, then we broke into two groups and went to youth cell groups (home groups) where we spent time with the teens and shared our testimonies again and told them about the mission trip we’re on.

We’ll be staying in Chisinau, Moldova with our translator Julia, she is also the Youth Leader for the church, and her family for a week and then we are going to a village in Beheshti to stay with a young family for a week, and then we spend 5 days at the end of the month somewhere else in Moldova.
Yesterday we went to a youth detention center and talked with the kids there. Steve and Charlotte told them about our time in India and Nepal, Amiee and I shared our testimonies, and then we sang a song and played some games. Then we went to lunch at a little cafe and then we went to a park where we met up with some teens from the cell groups and we spent some time inviting people we saw to the program we’re having Saturday. Saturday we’ll be going to a school and playing volleyball and football and then we are having a program with Worship and skits and messages about Jesus.
At the house we’re staying at I saw something that I haven’t seen in 4 months: a bathtub!
Today is our day off and I’m staying in because I have a cold and just want to rest and Julia’s mom is here and making me sunflower tea every hour, it’s supposed to help my immune system. I’m sitting in the computer room using a desktop computer and Sheila and Julia’s mom are sitting here looking through a box of family pictures. Her mom doesn’t speak English and I love how language doesn’t have to be a barrier and we get “mom’s” all over the world that take care of us. It just warms my heart!
I’m so excited for this month and I think God has big things in store for us both personally as well as in ministry. We won’t have internet next week so I’ll post more blogs when I get back and I’ll include pictures!
