Our squad met up in Varanasi, India for a few days for Launch, which was just preparing us again of why we’re here and the difference we can really make in the places we go.
My team arrived in freezing cold Bihar, India on Friday and we’ve had the weekend off to rest after all of our traveling. We are working with an organization called GEMS (Gospel Echoing Missionary Society). This place is amazing! We are staying on their 22 acre compound in the guest house. They also have a church, hospital, a school and many amazing ministries. It’s a blessing to be here and I know that we will learn so much from the people here.
We should find out this week what ministries we’ll be helping with. Some of the ones we might be helping with include going to an orphanage for kids with polio (I cant wait for this one!), helping with bible studies, teaching English, and just interacting with the people here.
Indian food is pretty good, and they serve us Chai Tea all the time, which we love! And my new favorite is pepper tea, soo good! I had my first official experience with culture shock as we drove through the villages on our way to Bihar. It’s one thing to see pictures and videos, but to actually be here and see the way some people live with your own eyes is so different.
We took a bunch of pictures today so I’ll get them loaded on my computer and post them soon! Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible! And I’m still only halfway there on the fundraising so if anyone feels led to donate it would mean the world to me! J
