One of our first nights in Bucharest, Becky surprised our team with Christmas presents! We each got a gift wrapped box and inside were different toiletries that we needed. We got hats and gloves, tooth brushes, toothpaste, deodorant, pens, notepads, all the things that World Racers start running out of. It was so sweet and such a blessing to us! We got to celebrate Christmas in March in Romania! And in the last week we’ve been able to spread that joy with others. We’ve gone to some villages and passed out clothing and food and gift boxes like the ones we got to families in need.

One day we went to visit 3 families and each time as we pulled onto the families street we saw children jumping up and down and clapping at the end of the road as they eagerly awaited for the vans to pull up. We weren’t there for long before Becky brought out her accordion and Philip strummed along on his guitar. We sang a few songs and then prayed with the families before passing out boxes of clothing and food and then giving out presents like the ones we had received a few days earlier. We had been blessed by the gifts and were able to bless others with the same things.
One house we went too had 2 rooms and 9 children! Another family we visited had 2 children that were the head of their class, and their father had been working in another country to make money to support the family and when he came back he had a stroke and now he can’t work. We also met a mother of a 9 month old baby and she had been attacked by 7 dogs a few days before. The streets in Romania are home to many stray and wild dogs and it’s illegal to shot them! She showed us the bites on her legs, arms, and back.

We’ve spent the last few weeks visiting families and going to chruch services. It’s been fun and I am loving Romania.
