Our main ministry this month is spending time with the girls. We help them with their English homework, play Uno or badminton, eat our meals with them, and just hang out. During the day we help with jobs around the compound while the girls are at school. Some of the things we’ve done are helping build their volunteer house, and going out to the new land to help with landscaping and gardening.
The volunteer house.

Mornings start at 6:30 with breakfast of rice and a fried egg, then we start work at 8:30 usually working on the volunteer house which has mostly been built by world race teams and will mostly house WR teams. Or we go to the new property and prune trees, hoe the garden, and most importantly watching where we step so we don’t get attacked by red fire ants.
This is where we do yard work.

Lunch is at 12:00 and consists of rice and chicken. Then we continue working until 2:15, and then the girls get back at 4:30 so we hang out with them and eat dinner with them at 6:00. Dinner is usually rice with chicken, pork, or some kind of mystery meat. The food here has been really good so far. Back in the States drunken noodle was my favorite Thai dish, but I haven’t seen that anywhere. But the Phad Thai is amazing!
Helping with homework.
We hang out with the girls until 7:30 then we hang out back at our tents until we decide to go to bed and then we fall asleep to the sound of really loud frogs and other unknown creatures right outside by the pond.
All in all Thailand has been a great experience so far. I’m enjoying our ministry and I know that we are making huge differences in the girls lives, even if our actions seem so small.
