We walked the streets of Lajas for the first week in the DR. We went door to door to door to door, excited to meet the locals and see what they needed to be encouraged. We met so many beautiful people and saw God do so many wonderful things. We met a lady named HastaGracia which translates to “Higher Grace.” As we began speaking with her and her family, she asked if we would pray for unity within her family and between her sons. Her sons name was Sergio and his son was Carlito. We were able to pray with all of them for Gods peace and unity, which was beautiful. We then noticed she was holding her hand close to her body and it was limp. We asked her about it and she told us she didn’t know what was wrong but it was in constant pain, so we asked if she would like prayer for it… She said yes! So we prayed for her family, we prayed for her hand and at the end she was flipping her hand up and down and moving it! She was no longer in pain! God healed her hand right in that moment! It was so beautiful!
Then we met Trina. Trina was an older woman, around 85 I’d say, who had a genuine relationship with Christ. She asked if we would pray for her because she recently had Chicken Guinea (not sure how to spell that!) and she was still having a lot of pain from it…We prayed for her and God healed her in that moment as well. She lifted her hands in the air to thank God with such joy on her face and told us she couldn’t lift her arms that far up before.
While we were here, we even were able to talk to Mercidela and her daughter about who Christ was and they asked about how to have Him in their lives.
It was such a beautiful thing and I’m so grateful God allows us to be part of Him transforming lives.
Miracles aren’t just for stories. Miracles aren’t just rumors that make for good movies or warm thoughts… They are real. They happen. I’ve just told you about 3 of the many I have seen in a single week.
It was so awesome to see God show His love and faithfulness through miracles! To be transparent though, I will tell you it brought up some questions… “God, if you healed these people- I saw it with my own eyes…why don’t you heal everyone?” I was curious about specific family members… And God just reminded me, that He is God and His plans are so much bigger and better than anything I could come up with. He reminded me to just trust in His goodness and Faithfulness. And so, I will.
Whatever miracle you’re believing for, just keep trusting! Keep praying! Keep asking! God is faithful. He is so so faithful. He gave me just a glimpse of His goodness and faithfulness and I’m so excited to see more and share it with you!!
I hope you’re encouraged and in some way inspired,
With love,
Andie
