The small town was colorless and stale, almost suffocating, barely sustaining life; the streets had no traffic, buildings were cold and uninviting. The people…there were so many people. They looked just like the environment they were in: colorless and lifeless, cold and stale. They were sitting on the sidewalks hopelessly, their knees to their chest, paralyzed by insecurity and fear.
There was a legion of people who were living life with a heart surrendered to Christ. We were in rows lined side by side, and columns, one in front of the other. It was highlighted that all of our eyes were on Christ, who was standing before us. Though our eyes were on Him, we could see the lifelessness and pain of all those around us; we were seeing as He saw. As He stepped, we stepped. Whichever way he turned, we turned. What was happening was so beautiful. All our eyes were on Christ and we were doing just as He did. Jesus led us to the people in the town. He had his heart in hand, His arms extended, and He gently approached the lifeless. We followed, with our hearts surrendered to the direction of Christ. Our hands were just as His, and with his leading, our arms were extended – heart in hand, and the world around us gained color and life was inhaled. It was such a powerful awakening to be part of.
This was a vision God showed me during Training Camp. I haven’t shared it with many people because it was so personal and has taken me a while to fully digest, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it!! It fuels an excitement in the depth of my spirit and I can’t contain it! God showed me, through that vision, that He has been waiting for a time and generation that is so willing to surrender their hearts to His will and that now is that time. Can’t you see it? Can’t you feel it in the deepest part of who you are? A desire to change the lives around you, to be used to escort in a breath of life, to breathe life into dry bones, to bring truth and see His power revitalize a hopeless spirit… When we fix our eyes on the heart of Christ, and are willing to surrender to His leading, the world will be awakened.
I met a couple of truly amazing people for coffee this afternoon. We’ve been talking about meeting up for a few weeks, it has finally happened. We met up because we have this same yearning in our spirit- to follow the leading of Christ with surrendered hearts and we know this is an awakening in the spirits of many- not just ours. We want to be part of equipping and encouraging those around us to live in a bold surrender. Surrender is scary because it means being selfless,(technically, it means to cease resistance or submit to authority,)but the point still stands! What happens when we step out in abandonment of who we are, and step out surrendered to Christ, with our hearts held out- fully vulnerable and selfless, trusting in the protection of Christ alone? I love that there are people who want to help inspire others to have the courage to walk in that selflessness. BE ONE OF THEM.
I truly believe this time, this generation, is one that will be willing to surrender and change the world. We have been labeled by society as the “Me, Me, Me Generation” but, I see the spirit of God awakening us to be a “Changing the World Generation.” I want to be part of that. I refuse to sit on the sidewalk paralyzed by fear and insecurity, with my knees to my chest. This is a call to action, a call to boldness and surrender, a call of willingness.
I’m praying for you. That God will, if He hasn’t already, stir up a desire in the depth of your soul that fans an undying flame and passion for change. I am praying for you, that you walk in boldness and surrender and vulnerability and that you will walk daily with your eyes on Christ and your heart held out with vulnerability, wherever He leads you to do so.
If you need specific prayer, there is a “Contact Me” link on the left, I would love to stand in agreement with you- to offer some accountability even. I’m so excited to see how God uses you and this generation to awaken the world with His love.
With all the Love in My Heart,
Andie
