The bible tells us clearly what Satan’s every intent is: steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). It also tells us “God makes all things work for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose…” (check out Romans 8). As the last few weeks have gone by and I find myself preparing to leave with Adventures in Missions for The World Race, I find a lack of irony in the fact that things start to become challenging and the “storms of life” start to brew in the distance, not only in my own life- but in the life of those closest to me.
There is nothing Satan wants more than a “mediocre christian.” If you’re in the middle, you are no threat to Satan’s plan and you re no asset to the kingdom of God. It’s when you begin to wake up and walk in the authority of Christ- that is when you become an asset to heaven and destroy hell for a living. I was reading John 14 and in verse 6 Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
He continues saying in verse 12, what I find to be such a powerful statement- life transforming- if we can grasp onto His words!
vs. 12-14 “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
Take a second a read over that again.
This is something I challenge you (and myself) to meditate on and let the reality of what He is saying take root in our hearts. The son of God, Jesus Christ, is telling US- YOU AND ME- that we can do the works He did and things even greater than what He did.
THAT my friends, is the authority we have in Christ Jesus. THAT is the authority, the confidence we should be walking in day after day!!
Fear has NO PLACE in our hearts, because Christ Jesus defeated that on the cross!! Sickness has NO place in our bodies or minds, because Christ Jesus defeated THAT on the cross!! Addictions, generational curses, torn families, CANCER- NONE OF THIS HAS A PLACE unless we give it a place.
Jesus is SO clear when He tells us the authority of His name! His purpose, just as ours, is to glorify our Father. Anything that’s not of God is of Satan and we don’t have to stand for such things. We don’t have to stand for depression, sickness, disease, addictions, insecurities, fears…. Those things were not created for God’s Children. Those are tactics Satan uses to steal, kill and destroy.
Lets stop living in mediocrity. Satan wants that. He thrives off of mediocre “Christians.” We thrive by being with our Father- so lets walk in the authority He has given us, the love He has poured over us. Let’s live RADICALLY. That’s not just a calling on my life- I may be going on the World Race as part of this purpose, but a RADICAL FAITH is necessary for all of us!! Don’t let Satan convince you that you have no authority or let him squash what you know you have. This is a call to live out a radical faith. Know what God has given you and SHARE THAT WITH THOSE AROUND YOU!! Once you understand what Christ has given you, once you fully grasp it, you can’t help but want to share that truth, freedom and revelation!!
