“Praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD, my soul.
I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot
save.”
Psalm 146:1
Even in the hard seasons,
Even through the heartbreak,
Even through the perceived rejection and unworthiness,
Even through the feelings of being unloved and unwanted.
Even when you feel you have lost all value because of the things you’ve given up,
Because of things you’ve given to him.
When they don’t seem like they mattered.
O, my soul, praise Him.
Even through the darkest hours of aching,
Even through the storms that rise all around you,
Even through the waves that seem to crash over you,
O, my soul, praise Him.
Even in the moments when you feel weak,
Even in the moments when you want to give up,
Even in the moments when you can’t seem to understand,
O, my soul, praise Him.
Praise Him for all He’s done.
Praise Him for all He’s going to do.
Praise Him for holding your hand through the darkest hours.
Praise Him for being your protection when the storms begin to rise.
Praise Him for what He’s going to do without him.
O, soul, you are worth choosing.
O, soul, you are worth waiting on.
O, soul, you are seen as more precious than the finest silver and gold.
O, soul, you are unique.
O, soul, you have purpose.
O, my soul, don’t be so downcast.
O, my soul, don’t lose hope.
O, my soul, don’t lose focus.
Soul, don’t you see?
Don’t you see what’s up ahead?
Don’t you see what’s to come?
Don’t you see the women who will become free through the words that you speak?
Don’t you see the freedom that’s to come in your life and the lives around you?
Don’t you see it?
O, soul, you have purpose.
Purpose to love.
Purpose to encourage.
Purpose to disciple young women.
Purpose to bring Kingdom.
Purpose to live according to the gospels.
Purpose to heal the sick.
Purpose to love the unloveable.
Purpose to reach the unreachable.
Purpose to touch the untouchable.
O, my soul, your purpose is important.
Many have been called,
but only few go.
only few go.
only few go.
Do you hear that, O, my soul?
Do you hear that?
You have purpose.
You were created to go.
You were created to go.
You were created for more, O, my soul.
You were created to soar.
So, my soul, soar on wings like eagles;
Be free, my soul,
you will run and not grow weary,
you will walk, and not be faint.
My soul, He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
O, soul, put your hope in the Lord,
for HE will renew your strength.
My soul, have you not heard?
are you not listening?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
The creator of the heavens and the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding, no one can fathom.
O, my soul, you weren’t made to understand,
but you were made to trust in His plan.
You were made to walk and keep walking until He says stop.
So walk away, O, my soul.
Walk away from the pain and heartache.
Walk away from the lies and deceit.
Walk away and keep walking towards Him.
Keep walking.
My soul, you’re exactly where you need to be.
You’re exactly who you were created to be.
Don’t get stuck in the past, soul.
You don’t belong there.
You were created for more, O, my soul.
You were created to soar.
So, keep soaring soul,
because soaring looks good on you.
[[ I wrote this psalm during worship track this morning, it’s as real and vulnerable as my heart can get right now. Thanks for reading, friend. ]]
