I thought it would be much easier to give an overview of this month with
pictures and spare you all those words. Enjoy!

This is our humble abode in Chincha. We live next to the goats, chicken
(yes, singular chicken, Howie), and the foothills of the Andes. We love
our home and our pets.

This is my team on race day. Starting from the left: Jen, Angie,
Patrice, Nate, and yours truly.

The beach in Lima. It is so beautiful. Very cloudy, but beautiful.

My favorite girl in the world. Nicole. She stole my heart and won’t give
it back. She is digging for the quarter I put in her pocket.

Yeah, I went sand boarding. Yeah, it was awesome.

Our group that went sand boarding.

A typical view out the window of our bus
in Chincha. This house is actually not
affected very much at all. Most houses are
completely demolished or without roofs
and/or walls.

Some of the rubble and houses in Tambo de Mora,
the community we have been working in.

We took a boat ride one day in an area of Peru
called Pisco. This is also the day we went to
the beach and got completely burnt.

Caroline, Me, and Becky at the beach. They are some of my favorites!

The sunset at Iglesia Emanuel (the church we are camped out at).

Me and Majelli. She is just beautiful. She is one of Baby Carol’s cousins.

Dance party at Baby Carol’s house. Her family is so stinking awesome.
Grandma Freddie is in the pink bustin’ loose.

Maju. Another little one who has stolen my heart forever. She is
one of Carol’s cousins as well.

We had princess day for two of the girls in Baby Carol’s family. They
tend to get overlooked with all the little ones and Carol to take care of.
So this day, they were princesses. We went out to lunch, shopping,
bought a cake, and showed them the church we stay at. They loved
it and we loved it.

Flying with my favorite little man, Andre.

Andre walking on my feet. So cute he is!

So this has been my tutorial of pictures commemorating this first month of the
race here in Peru. Hope you all have enjoyed seeing where I am, who I’ve
been with, and what we’ve been doing!
