When I started typing out this blog, I was sitting with a fellow World Racer at the local Starbucks in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. If you know anything about me at all, you know I don’t particularly like Starbucks, but the wi-fi wassshhpppooopppin’ and the A/C a’bumpin’! Now, I am sitting in a different coffee shop with my team.

Today is another training day. We have about 3 days left before we go out into the nations and go do what Jesus did best – L O V E.

At this point, we have officially been on this World Race journey for 13 days! It has been a series of travel days, moving around this city from hostel to hostel, we‘ve done our fitness hike, we’ve had a Sabbath Day and kinda gotten used to the muggy, hot weather. Some of us have already had the runs, gotten tore up by mosquitoes, thrown up or been jacked for our belongings!

Sooooo—we in this now…

We’ve now been split up into teams and we gettin’ ready to do the dang thang! Some of us have also been called into taking on different roles and responsibilities.

Yesterday, I was offered a role of a Logistics Coordinator. This means that I will be responsible for coordinating lodging and travel for debriefs. Debriefs are a time where we come together as a squad to talk about where we are, how things are going and just spend some quality time together as a whole. I got a “trap” phone too, AKA “baby” phone as they like to refer to it! EEEYYY! Training is now coming to an end and things are definitely about to get real!

Overall, however, I am HAPPY HERE!

I am on a pretty dope team: TEAM HARMONY

We are quite the concoction: 2 boujee Southern girls, 1 not-so-always-zen yogi, 1 voice of reason, and 1 super chill, laid back team leader that requires personal space! This will make for an interesting year, I suppose.

I honestly can hardly wait to see what the Lord is going to do in us and through us. The next part of this journey is just seeking more of God and less of ourselves, as we hone in to the voice of God and allow Him to direct our path from here.

Next up: MINISTRY. “Life is ministry and ministry is life.”

Stay tuned fam. Love and miss you all dearly…
