Today is a special day for me. It is my last bible study for the year and I get to spend this evening with my tribe, my beautiful soul sisters and prayer warriors. They are my #squadgoals! These are the women I call on when I need to be lifted in prayer. They make me strong when I am weak. We are all so different in many ways and we’ve all fought very similar and different battles, but we have one thing that unites us all – CHRIST! We aren’t perfect, we mess up and we fail more regularly than we’d like to admit but we stick together and we hold each other accountable.
There is something so immensely special about having a tribe like mine. We get together in fellowship and we talk about our walks with God, our victories and our struggles and sometimes, we have a full on cryfest because, y’all…GOD IS SO GOOD!
Some of us are divorced, others have overcome addictions, marriages have been restored or maybe we are still going through our own valley and God is preparing us for our victory. There is something so beautiful and so empowering to find women that have been broken, but still stand firm and hold it all together because we know that we serve a mighty God and that He is the one that makes all things new.
I wanted to blog about them today, because I wanted to share how important it is to find your tribe. Community in Christ is such an important aspect to living a full and fruitful life. It is a beautiful thing. There are times, when I am struggling with my own issues and I can send a quick text asking for prayer and immediately, I have a squad interceding and praying for me at the drop of a dime. They pray a fervent prayer too – they feel my pain, they cry with me. They encourage and help me. I am typing this with tears in my eyes, because I know the places I have been and how low I once felt but my squad was there for me. They are still there for me.
Tonight is going to be so wonderful. I can’t wait to hang out with them and I am surely going to miss them when I embark on this journey that is The World Race. They’ve been praying for me, for us (my squad mates), the countries we are going to and for how God is going to use us to make an impact in the communities we will be serving in around the world.
If you are reading this today and you don’t currently have a tribe, I am praying for you! I pray you find your squad and community to rely on when you are weak. Connect with like-minded, lovers of Christ. You need these relationships to grow your relationship with Christ, but also to grow your relationship with others in community, speaking in truth and lifting each other up when the enemy tries to bring you down. Fight your battles with prayer along side your tribe and I promise you that nothing the enemy uses against you will prevail. There is beauty in community and my hope and prayer is that you find your tribe, so you can always be reminded of how important you are to growing the Kingdom of God.
Until next time my friends….
