First and foremost, thanks for all the comments on these blogs. It is so encouraging to hear from all of you.

Last time I had mentioned the idea of starting a prayer box. Well, God moved at the orphanage and the girls embraced the concept. It was hard at first to find a time to involve all the girls, but we made it happen. We had them write their prayers and put them in the box. The box is just a regular box that was not decorated at first.

Anyway, we rounded the girls up and they all sat in a big circle. Three of the older girls volunteered to translate for us. There are two languages that the prayers were written in: khmer and vietmanese. The older girls would read the prayer request outloud to the girls and then we would all pray. Then something amazing happend. The girls took turns praying outloud. Imagine 33 girls and one praying outload. WOW WOW WOW. The little girls even got involved and prayed. It was so awesome to hear. Even though I couldnot understand. The language barrier ceased to put a damper on it. It lasted about 45 minutes and the girls were focused the whole time. Another cool thing was that the tuk tuk driver Vincent closed the session out. This was so important because he is the main male figure in their lives. It was very moving.

The girls then proceeded to decorate the box. The box looks absolutely gorgeous. None of us helped them decorate it except for writing “Prayer Box” on the top.
