a long awaited gap year update – –

I am no longer leaving the country in September. the decision to continue World Race Gap Year wasn’t necessarily a hard one to make but the changes that came with it were definitely hard to settle with.

when I followed the Lord’s call a year ago to apply for World Race Gap Year 2020 I was fully confident that was exactly what the Lord had planned for me. knowing that I was going to spend 9 months of traveling continent to continent to be the hands and feet of Jesus was definitely something to look forward to. but God has something else up his sleeve. instead of heading to Romania in September, I will be staying in Georgia for 3.5 months doing discipleship training before my squad and I  can finally leave the states in January. it’s definitely not what I thought I was signing up for. these past few weeks the Lord has really been pressing on my heart that I definitely did not sign up for 9 months of traveling. He’s made clear to me that I signed up for a 9 month journey with Him. a journey to expand my heart and seek Him in a new way all while living in community and learning how to minister right here in my very own country where there are broken hearts just like there are in South Asia and Costa Rica.

though the changes in my plans are unexpected, my good father knows exactly what He’s doing and that is what gets my heart racing. one thing I can expect in the next 9 months is for there to be a radical change in my heart and an amazing chance to get to taste and see His sweet Kingdom expand.
