I am going to be honest with you, I am not this super brave person who has “everything together”. Man, I wish I could say I was though. I am a person who takes comfort in consistency and knowing what will happen next. I am a person who does struggle with fear and insecurities. As I am trying to prepare for this amazing trip that is out of my comfort zone, I find myself struggling with thoughts like, “I can’t raise the money to go, I do not know enough or am not good enough, it is going to be so hard to leave all of the people I love, etc.” I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father, Who has been reminding me of truth! Honestly, on my own strength I really could not do this whole World Race, at least not well. In all of the questions and fears, I am reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, “Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.” Wow, how cool is it that the all-powerful, holy God of the universe would put His treasure (His Spirit) in us, clay jars?! When we surrender everything to Jesus, He will lead us to do things that are out of our comfort and that we don’t have the ability to do in our own strength. When He calls us to do these things, we can grow in deeper dependence on Him and witness His extraordinary power and strength! It can be difficult, but we can rest in the FACT that He loves us, He will not lead us into despair, He will not abandon us, and He will not let us be destroyed. Friends, we are empowered by the Spirit of the living God to follow Jesus and serve Him. We can’t and we don’t have to try to live in our own strength. God is with us and we can depend on Him. He wants you to depend on Him, He really does love you, and He will not abandon you. The Father may be calling you into something that scares you, like asking a person for forgiveness, telling a friend about the love of Jesus, going to a certain school, adopting a child, or taking that new job. I just want to encourage you to trust Him. His plans are good, He will lead you, and He will be your strength!

**If there is any specific way I can be praying for you, please let me know! I would love to pray for you. 🙂

Please continue to pray for my team and me as we prepare for the World Race and face different struggles.
