Jesus is like a sling shot, the closer you pull him to you, the farther He will take you…….
And that’s exactly what The Lord did to me during training camp.
There I was, a little girl, unstripped from my innocence, in a beautiful green field, checkered blanket laid perfect under an oak tree. But I wasn’t alone, Jesus was there with me. Together we enjoyed strawberries, played tag around the tree, and talked one on one, everything I could have asked for. I finally asked him the toughest question, the one I feared the answer wouldn’t be what I expected…… “How much do you love me ? ”
I knew he loved me but I never fully understood how much he did love me.
Then He looked at me, stretched his hands out and the next thing I know, my vision was taken over my fluttering hearts that multiplied over, and over and over again. I couldn’t even keep count ! Wow and there I stood in a room during worship , in awe of the first encounter I have ever experienced with The Lord.
Training camp was filled with crying, so much healing and love! I made friendships I will never forget and the most gratifying part was getting to know Jesus in a way I had never known. At training camp, I lived amongst approx. 300 other World Racers who will Launch out in January 7th, 2015. We used porta potties, took bucket showers, and slept in the woods. I was stretched beyond measure, physically and spiritually but it was well worth it!
My Squad is Q squad (Purple squad). I had the pleasure of meeting all 55 members, who I truly came to adore! They are so filled with the spirit and ready to serve The Lord. It’s both inspiring and contagious. I can’t wait to see how the Lord will work in each of their lives.
From my squad, we have been spilt into teams of 7. My team name is Bold|2831|, a name we chose for Acts 28:31 “proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance,” as we seek to be women who boldly proclaim the Gospel and Truth to the nations!
I will be serving and living in community with these lovely ladies during the 11 months of the World Race. The Lord placed us together and I know we will be an amazing duo! Meet Julie, Sabrina, Heather, Juliana (top row) and Jenni and Rachel (bottom row)!!!
