Hi! Amy Cook here – Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I am 27, worked in corporate America the last five years, and now I am embarking on an 11-month long mission trip with a team of people and a backpack! WOAH. The journey life has taken to get me here is a crazy one, but I could not be more excited to walk away from everything comfortable and give my life to serving Jesus in 11 different countries.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Auburn University with my bachelor’s degree, I returned to Atlanta to work for a large brand and pursue a career in marketing. I spent five years working for an incredible company and a boss that I loved. When the Lord stirred my heart for something more, I decided to leave my job, family, friends, condo, comfortable life and stability. For what? I have yet to find the details of the answer, but I know it includes a countless number of people and adventures serving in their world. Here we go!
Things I love: JESUS, my family, the incredible friends I have in Atlanta and all over the U.S., crazy/weird food, all things spicy, travel, adventure, deep conversation, avocados, working out, spontaneity, and PEOPLE.
I have seen The Lord work in my life in a beautiful way over the past year and I’m thrilled to share my story with everyone as this next chapter unfolds. So, here we go: Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay/Argentina, Cambodia, Thailand, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Uganda!
