I’m Amy Workman I am 22 years old and I was born and raised in a small town in Colorado. I have two siblings, an older sister and a younger brother. We were raised in a church where we all came to know Christ at a young age. My sister Lea, my brother Glenn and I all played sports growing up so our lives were busy running from softball fields to golf courses to gymnastics practice. I could not have asked for better parents. My dad coached all three of us as little kids in T-ball and my mom spent most of her time driving me an hour each way to practice. That being said our life was busy yet my parents still found time to slow us down and take time to allow us to fall in love with the mountains. On the weekends during the summer we would load up the trailer and find some of our favorite little camping spots. Some of my greatest memories are the short little camping trips spent with the family.
I currently am going to school at Colorado State University of Pueblo and I am working on my under graduate degree in Psychology. After returning from the race I plan to finish up my major and continue on with a master in Christian counseling. In my spear time I teach Zumba and coach girls of all ages in tumbling. But the majority of my spear time is spent mentoring the young girls at my church. I pray over them, lead their small groups and hang out with them, building relationships to help them walk through whatever season of life they are in. Since my brother and sister live in different states I spend the rest of my spare time hanging out with friends and diving into Gods word with them in bible studies and small groups.
God has been preparing me for this mission trip my whole life. The different trials and triumphs in my life have been Gods divine orchestrations. I am so excited to see God continue to grow me while I prepare for this leap of faith and the work He is going to do around me and in me while I embark on this wonderful adventure.
