Well, it’s Monday.

My head is not spinning with thoughts of work or bills or long weeks at the office.

Not because it happens to be a holiday.

Because I have no job, no bills… nothing, really.

I have nothing.

Nothing but hope and faith and a little bit of sanity left over.

I’ve told the story at least 300 times, and each time I’m out of breath by the end like someone has punched me right in the gut. But, if your faith isn’t knocking the wind out of you every once in a while, you should start asking for more.

I’ve been asked more than once to describe G42, explain why I need to go, share a little about what exactly I’ll be doing… But the truth is I don’t know much. It’s like the Lord has wrapped G42 in beautiful paper with a big bow and is handing it out to me as a gift, a surprise for the one he loves that has been chosen out of his depth of knowledge and understanding.

He knows me so intimately, and that’s the shred of faith that pushes me deeper into the unknown: into G42 and life beyond.

I’ve been praying a lot, asking God to show me what to do. Tuition needs to be paid, insurance needs to be added, and there’s such a long list of people I love who want to spend time together before I go. Without a job, car, or phone I’m not exactly sure how all of those things will fall into place.

I’m sure they won’t fall into place, but I know God will intentionally place all these working pieces of my life exactly where he sees fit.

Fund raising seems so impossible with such a short amount of time, lunch and coffee dates seem so inconvenient when everyone has to drive out to my house so they can happen over my own kitchen table…

But, praise God, with a set of circumstances like these there is absolutely no room for my own glory.

As he has proven over and over in the past few months, God makes it happen.

And me? I get to praise him.

It’s just like a gift, wrapped in beautiful paper with a big bow, being handed to a child who is utterly incapable of repaying such love.
