I’ve been praying about what God wants me to blog about, and He’s put my teammates on my heart.
I never wanted to be on an all-girl’s team. I get along better with guys. I like the carefree spirit of guys. It would be easier and more comfortable if I had men on my team. I remember at training camp, I specifically asked to be on a co-ed team, but that’s not what God had in mind. God wants to stretch me in every way. He wants me to grow. He wants to change me. God doesn’t want me to live a comfortable life, so he put me on a team with 6 other girls.
I have never been more thankful for these women. I’ve learned so much because of them. I can’t even imagine spending these 9 months without them.
Meet my girls:

Brooke McIntosh
Oh goodness, this girl brings so much joy to our team. In the midst of all challenges or struggles, she finds a way to lighten the mood and bring some positivity to our group by making up a song on the spot or telling a funny story. Brooke’s energy is so uplifting to everyone around her. She’s full of enthusiasm and approaches every task she’s given with a smile.
Jacqueline Roig
Oh, J-queline. This girl’s laugh. Let me tell you, her laugh is so contagious. Jacqueline has the amazing gift of finding humor in every situation. It is such a blessing and a delight to be around. I’ve never seen her with a negative attitude. She has such a fiery spirit and motivation. I’ve already gained so much from knowing her, and I can’t wait to learn from her enthusiasm and love of God.
Julie Ovenell
Wow. Julie is one of the most lovable people I know. She’s probably the one person on my team I can spend all day with and not get annoyed with. She brings such a unique perspective to our team. We have ministry together so I spend all day every day with this girl and I haven’t regretted one minute. She’s so much fun to be around, and she shares my addiction to candy. I am so blessed by her selfless spirit. I can’t wait to grow even closer with her.

Michelle Mclellan
From the very beginning of training camp, I’ve been drawn to Michelle. This girl has such a huge heart and a passion for people that is so evident with everything she does. She has a genuine heart to be in the center of God’s will and she follows it so obediently. Not only does she lead our team with humility and grace, but she never complains about the abundance of responsibilities she’s given. Oh, and I also love our slow motion hugs and hair-flip dancing.
Shelby Havard
One of the first things I’ve noticed about Shelby is her wisdom. She has so many ideas, perspectives, and stories to share. I’m so thankful to have her discernment on my team. This girl is also blessed with the spiritual gift of listening. When I need to rant, cry, or pour out my feelings to someone, I know I can turn to Shelby. I can tell her anything and she listens with an open mind and open arms. Plus, she this girl can cook. She cooks almost every meal for our team, it’s always amazing, and it makes the other two teams jealous.
Annika Williams
Anni is such an amazing addition to my team. Not only is she a financial genius (She’s the team treasurer), but she does everything without a complaint. I am so blessed by her positivity. She has me laughing all day with her hilarious stories. She has such a heart for people, and I am so pumped for the adventures that lie ahead with this hilarious, spontaneous, gorgeous girl.
I love each of these girls so much! I know God’s going to use them to further His kingdom in so many ways. I can see how far they’ve already come, and I am so ready to see them grow and mature further.
