What an amazing week this has been 🙂 God has blessed me in so many ways!
To start, I met my first squad mate, Hillary, and was so excited to see that she was a girly girl like me! It will be great to lean on each other as we brave the unfamiliar terrain of the outdoors (yes, I know, this is going to be an interesting year with all the dirt, bugs, tents, sleeping bags, and baby wipe showers)!! She is such a strong Christian women and I can't wait to serve next to her and the probably 50+ others for all of next year 🙂
Second, I told my boss about the trip. I was a nervous wreck doing it, but it seriously could not have gone any better! Brad was so excited about my trip and was eager to learn more about it, he was extremely supportive in my decision to go and his sincerity and encouragement were inspiring. I then got an email from one of the gentlemen I work directly with and his encouragement and support through his words just made me excited! And just yesterday, one of the VPs I work closely with set up a lunch with me just so he can learn more about the trip! How was I so fortunate to land a wonderful job with such a great company. I know God blessed me with amazing people to work with throughout my time here and I am so grateful for that!
Third, I got an email this week to check out my squad's blog and sure enough, our first squad war was posted! To explain a squad; there are 4 trips (going on different routes) leaving in January of 2014, each is a squad. January 2014 Route 3 (which is mine) is the A-Team (squad A really, but when you're squad A, you are obviously going to be #1, awesome, The A-Team, Absolutely the best… just saying). I have really gotten to see some excitement, team building and comradery within the team and we haven't even met each other! I can't imagine what next year will be like with the fantastic people!
But to spend this year with these amazing people, I need your help!!
What YOU can do:
PRAY! Prayers for me, my team, the countries that we will be traveling to, and the people in those countries. Pray that God can shine through us and His love to be shared across the world.
GIVE! I know that God will provide, and that $17,000 is no small ask, but through God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). I pray that my friends and family take the time to consider supporting and partnering with me on this journey (your donations are tax deductible). The ability to give allows you to take part with me (and it allows the me opportunity to go)! Without your support, this would not be possible.
SHARE! Feel free to share my blog with friends, family, co-workers, or anyone you feel called to share my blog with. www.amynoakes.theworldrace.org
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’" ~ Matthew 25:40
God is so good and I can't wait to see what he can do through us!! Please don't forget to PRAY!, GIVE! , and SHARE!
In Him,
Amy
