As I prepare to head out on the Race, God continues to work in my life. I know where I have been and I know where I am going 🙂 Up next is an 11-month mission out into the field to share God’s love, joy, compassion, grace, FREEDOM!! I’m ready.
I have a video of me as a child sitting on top of a slide as my parents waited at the bottom to catch me. I counted along with my parents, “1. 2. 3.” but there was hesitation as I clung to the railings at the top of the slide. As I looked down at my parents, I knew they wouldn’t let anything happen to me. They wanted to protect me and look after me, and they knew that the experience of letting go would allow me to grow and to trust. Finally my dad sang out:
“Go! Ready? Fly”
I let go.
Now as I enter into the next chapter in my life, I know that I my parents will continue to be there for me, to support me and to trust me. I know that I can also trust in God and His protection, love, and care. He has called me into a great journey of growth and love. He has called, and today 250 people respond by leaving this nation and going out into the harvest:
“He told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.’ Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.” Luke 10:2
I’m ready! We are ready. Guatemala in 11 hours!
Let’s Go!!
“My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my Guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I won’t give up, shut up, let up until I have stayed up, stored up, paid up, prayed up, preached up for the cause of Jesus Christ. I am a disciple of His. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till everyone knows, work till He stops me.”
