At the end of month 4,A-squad was entering into a time transformation. Typical to World Race fashion, nothing stays the same. Routes changes. Contacts change. Teams change. And as we entered debrief in San Jose, Costa Rica, we knew change was right around the corner. We knew that 4 days would change what we had known for 4 months. No one knew what teams would look like, but people were preparing for an abounding amount of change.
During debrief transformation occurred. We had some people raised up to be squad leaders. We had some raise up to be team leaders. We had team changes. We even had one team remain the same.
I was one of those that experienced change; my team changed. We lost some of our old Adelphoi teammates, but gained an amazing teammate in Amanda Abla and a wonderful new Team Leader in Edwin Yau.
This time was hard for a lot of people; change never comes easy. My new team had a hard first day. We acted excited, but under the service there was definite doubt. We would miss old teammates. We have to go through the process again. We would have to learn how to function as a team and a family. It took a long time for Adelphoi to be a family and we weren’t ready to separate. But we know one thing; God’s got this. His plan is glorious, and its unfolding before our eyes.
For our new team name we choose: ABOUNDING (#teamabounding). Just what is abounding you ask?
Abounding (adjective) – very plentiful; abundant 2. to occur or exist in great quantities or number; 3. to be rich or well supplied; 4. to be filled; teem
As we enter into month 5, we have to adapt to an abounding amount of changes: a new team, new continent, new culture, new everything. We know we are covered by God’s abounding grace, His abounding love, and His abounding mercy.
If you could help cover us in abounding prayer we know this month will be full of abounding JOY!
