Our plans for this next month were completely wrecked 2 days ago- just about finished training and ready to dive in to the planned ministry, when everything fell through. No place to lay our heads and no direction. We say this is a faith adventure, now we get to act on it! Leadership got together and we spent the evening in prayer, praising God that His ways are so much greater than ours, and that we fully believe that He will move. He is teaching us early on to be completely dependent on Him and not plans of our own. God brought to my mind the apostle Paul saying “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstance.”
My only expectation on this trip is that God Will Move!! He did! The next day, the Lord provided an amazing local contact to work with. His name is Noe & he is a pastor who had been praying for God to send a group to him to help him with a church plant! That is what our whole vision is- church plants! On top of this- our whole B team is going to get to stay together in a church for the month for free! And we get to hire one of the locals to be our cook- woohoo! Great Mexican food, someone else to bless, and more time to concentrate on being out in the community! So for the remainder of this month, we´ll be: discipling kids, working with drug addicts and prostitutes, sports ministry, and whatever else God brings across our paths to help with the church plant! The church we´re staying at is in town (another praise), so we will no longer have to walk 2miles each way for ministry.
These two dear men came to worship with us! The man on the left is Noe, the pastor we´ll get to work with the remainder of the month. His enthusiasm and passion for the Lord is contagious and energizing!
I´ll post pictures and stories as they come!! Love you all!!
