There are a lot of things I am going to expect from this trip:

I expect to learn how to fully rely on God, and to fully to know that I don’t need anything else except for Him.

I expect to be challenged in ways I wouldn’t imagine.

I expect to make friends that will become family members for the rest of my life.

I expect to see things I don’t understand, can’t comprehend and would never wish on anyone.

I expect to go through major culture shock.

I expect to cut A LOT of hair:-).

I expect to be terrified yet feel as safe as possible.

I expect to be exhausted, feel mentally beat, emotionally burned out and still have the strength to carry on.

I expect to be hit with the unexpected.

Yes, I am going to learn a lot, I am going to discover a lot of places, I am going to see, taste, and hear a lot of things I am not used to.  But none of this is about me or my teammates or anyone else.  It is about Christ.  What I am about to give up does not even measure up to the smallest fraction of what He has done for us.  We need to make this entirely about Him and His kingdom.

He is already so glad we are going to embark on this adventure, and not only those of us who are traveling, but also those of us who are supporting the travelers both financially and through prayer.  I am so excited for this and so is He!
