1). Shared a room with wasps (seriously, there’s a wasp nest in my room)
2). Ate giant flying ants
3). Ate grub
4). Ate Cuy (guinea pig)
5). taught english classes
6). Wated an hour to take a half an hour bus ride to get to an internet cafe
7). The only shower I had all month is with a bucket
8). I walked out of the bathroom one morning and there was a chicken right in front of me..staring at me…
9). Hiked through the Amazon Rainforest
10). Found tiger prints while hiking through the rainforest
11). Went on a mission trip on our mission trip
12). Jumped off a bridge into a river
13). Our public transportation was mostly Greyhound type buses
14). There was always a movie playing on the bus wherever we would go
15). A cat had babies under my bed
16). The light switch in my room WAS two exposed wires that you would press together untill…
17). There was an electrical fire in my bedroom from the light
18). Listened to the lizards croak throughout the house every night
19). I’ve never been so thankfuol for a bug net in my entire life!
20). Have had so much fun cooking meals with me team!
21). Hitchhiked at 4am and caught a ride with a semi truck driver
22). Learned how to make muffins at someone’s house where we used leaves as the muffin liners.
There’s always going to be great things and not so great things everywhere you live. But the best thing about Huaticocha is that the great things far outweigh the not so great things.
