An update  9/21: As my recovery has been longer than expected I headed to the doctor again this past week. This time leaving Ometepe and heading to the mainland hospital in Revis. There I underwent more test to uncover that I do have Hepatitis A, which comes from food that is not handled or washed properly. I'm on another round of antibiotics and have some food restrictions for the next month. Please be praying for me as with this diagnosis comes the news that my energy and how I feel will vary day to day and my recovery till me feeling 100% could be an extended amount of time. For those who have been praying Thank you! I have felt them. They have been a blessing and I know they are helping.

Two weeks ago, I got really sick. It started with feeling exhausted and some stomach pain. That started on Tuesday the day before we left for Nicaragua. I slept from 6pm till 7:30 am the next day. I still felt tired and achey. I had a low grade fever but it was time to leave. We arrived in Granada, Nicaragua where we were having debrief. Thursday things got worse and I started vomiting. So Friday morning I made my way to the doctor, and the medical lab where I was poked and prodded. The doctor said Kidney infection. Wonderful! not so much but I wasn't getting better.

Saturday I was worse so Sunday morning bright and early I left for the doctors again. This time I spoke with the other doctor. He read my results and told me I had Hepatitis and a Kidney infection. Needless to say I was shocked. My last doctor had read the same results but missed an observation at the bottom. The labs were closed because it was Sunday so I spent the next 24 hours in prayer over what to think and do. I couldn't believe what the doctor had said. He wanted more test to confirm the diagnosis and tell me which kind I had. I prayed for a miracle. That it wouldn't be Hepatitis that it would be something else. The doctor was convinced.

Monday morning came and off to the lab I went. I prayed and prayed. My team and the other team we were and are working with this month left ahead of me and my two friends as we would be at the doctors all day and have to wait for the go ahead for me to leave.  Later that afternoon I received my results. I didn't have Malaria. I didn't have Hepatitis but I did have a Liver Infection plus my Kidney Infection. By this time I was vomiting all the time and my eyes were yellow, but my prayers had been answered. I didn't have Hepatitis. I was cleared to leave for Ometepe but I would have to and had to take a shot of antibiotics everyday in my hip. Not Fun!

During this time of being sick, of being weaker and having a long recovery time since it took so long to get a diagnosis, has been very tough. I haven't completely understood why God would let me be sick during my time to have rest. Then I realized I did rest. I was forced to rest. I also had lots of time with Jesus. Being sick sucks! But I love how much I was able to realize I have the support of my whole squad family. My team family. and my back home family! I was able to grow and trust God in new ways! I'm doing much better!!! God has blessed me beyond measure! I love you all and think of you always!!! Miss you guys!!!
