It’s a relentless Pursuit. A Passionate Pursuit.

The other morning, that was my prayer for us here; that our eyes would be opened to His relentless pursuit of us. It is a relentless pursuit day in and day out. He never stops. Because HE knows each one of us on a deep intimate level, He knows how to pursue us. AND that is exactly what happened that day.

After morning prayer, we were able to take the kids from both children homes to the pool for the day with the help of a California team that was with us. When I first arrived, New Jerusalem home was already there.  After I put my bag down, one of the six-year-old boys lured me to the pool only to push me in.  My head popped up from the water and there he stood with a great big smile plastered on his face. Once in the pool, four year old Saw Kha Thoo, who I am quite fond of , jumped into my arms. With his hands clenched tightly around my neck and two kickboards under his body, we began to move around the pool until the other home arrived.

Soon after the Refuge Home arrived, I passed my little man off to teacher Liz so I could go welcome the five girls and one boy.

Saw Kha Thoo

Later, I came back and sat down by the pool’s edge. Then Saw Kha Thoo caught my eye and made his way over to me with teacher Liz. He motioned for me to come and join him in the pool. In a joking way, I asked him if I could ride on the kickboards with him. With a genuine look, he scooted over in order to make enough space for me. Blown away at this precious gesture, I jumped into the pool and positioned my arms on the kickboard. To make sure that I did not become separated from him, he grabbed my thumb and held it close to his body. Then in a swift, sweet motion he lifted my hand up and gently kissed it. In shocked, I wandered what just happened. Then it hit me; the Father was pursuing me through little Saw Kha Thoo.

first ever pool day

Then an hour later I was sitting at a concrete table talking with some friends. I turned around to glance at the kiddy pool and to my surprise, I heard the voices of four little boys beckoning me to come. “Teacher Amy, Teacher Amy, Teacher Amy” buzzed through air. Without hesitation, I made my way over to them. They showed me all moves from jumping in the pool to swimming under water. In that moment my heart was captivated. I was being romanced, but not by these little ones rather by someone who knows me better than I know myself.

Even though he was shivering, he could not seem to pull himself away from the fun!

Saw Kha Thoo’s brother

My eyes were opened that morning like I had prayed earlier that day. He was pursuing me the way He knew best: through little children. It does not always look the same, but it is always happening. I just need to take the time to realize His pursuit much like on that day!
