At the end of May my parents and little sister embarked on a journey unfamiliar to them half way across the world.  This being their first time out of the country, they had nothing to go off of, nothing to compare it to.  They learned a lot.  I learned a lot.  I'd be lying if I said it wasn't hard because it was.  They were pushed out of the comfort of small town USA and exposed to a whole new arena.   Sensors were overloaded.  I had to exhibit grace.  Questions were asked.  I needed to work on communication and remembering that this was their first time exposed to this unfamiliar life style.

They were exposed to my friends, my lifestyle in Chiang Mai.  After one week, they were about to step into my heartbeat, the place near to my core: Mae Sot.

While in Mae Sot, we had the opportunity to link up with my dear friends the Ward's.  We spent one day hanging with these incredible 7 teenagers at their new home.  For some of these Burmese kids, this blue home is the first one that they have ever had because most of them have spent their lives moving around the jungle in order to keep safe.

It was an honor to have my family be a part of these kids' "homecoming".  I could not help but sit back and watch my world's collide.  This was my parent's first time engaging in ministry of this sorts.  All I could think of was "Yes, this is right".

The more they painted, the more the blue began to fade.  Love was beginning to flow out.  With every stroke, LOVE was permeating this home.

With every nail, LOVE was being engrained in this table

With every step, love was oozing out on this place.

With every swipe, the dirt was fading and being replaced with beauty.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Love is the key…

and Love is what my family poured out.

Love is what brought them to this place…

and this LOVE was awakened as Jesus began to flow out of them.

I am glad my parents got to experience this and so much more.  It was hard, but worth it.  They left this country changed people and I know this is only the beginning of what is yet to come!

Thank YOU Jesus!
