Over my 26 years of life, I have heard time and time again how BIG the world is. I mean there are 7 different continents, hundreds of countries, bodies of waters, billions of people, and many states. Technically speaking, the world is MASSIVE. However, in some round about way, I have found it to be rather small. Wherever I go, God never ceases to amaze me. God always strategically places those people in my life whenever I need them most no matter where I am at in the world. It is always happening to me.
After we finished hiking the Hill in Penang, these two white men began to talk to my team because they noticed that we were from the states. The team members began saying where they were from, when all of a sudden one of the men chimed in saying Indiana. I was extactic and began talking more with them. Turns out these two regular joes are from my stopping grounds. It was like I was back where I grew up as they began talking about Bluffton, Huntington, Roanoke, and Ft. Wayne. I was so engulfed in conversation that Sarah O. had to chase me down so I did not miss the bus back to our place. S-M-A-L-L WORLD.
Here I am, halfway across the world running into people that are from my neck of the woods. Coincidnence??? I think not. Without a doubt, God was behind it all. He knew exactly what I needed…a little home action in my life.
