More and more this month my eyes have been opened up to Spiritual Warfare. What is going on? I never would have guessed that I would have been so intensely immersed into it. Literally, I am in the middle of a warzone. Through a book I read, I learned that it is the same stateside; however, the American Church has done a good job at masking, pretending that it is non- existant. A lie upon which Satan has coaxed us all into believing.
I will be the first to admit my ignorance in regards to all this. Ignorance for believing the lies placed in my mind. Ignorance for participating in seemingly harmelss things (i.e. movies, childhood games, music, T.V. shows, etc.) that open doorways for Satan to attack. Ignorance for believing that I should not talk about Satan or his demons for fear of elevating them too much or giving them over the top honor. Ignorance for skimming over God’s Word and not seeing it for what it really says. Ignorance for not fully clothing myself with the ARMOR of God everyday (Ephesians 6:10-18). Ignorance, for falling into the trap that the Gospel is one of peace, when in actuality Jesus says “…I did not come to bring peace, but a sword” (Matthew 10:34).
Why a sword? Because there is a battle out there and Jesus knew this full well!! He never said that following Him would be easy. Yes, He came down to earth in flesh, died on the cross for our sins, rose again three days later and is now seated at the right hand of the thrown of God…BUT hear me out on this. THERE IS SO MUCH MORE THAT SEEMS TO GET BIPASSED.
Even though Jesus is the victor and if we have a realtionship with Him we are on the winning side; never the less, this does not negate the mere fact that there is and will be a fierce battle happening until Jesus returns. SATAN HATES YOU. I mean he really really really hates you. He will try everything in his power to mess your life up. He will inflict sickness, accidents, tiredness, lie after lie until you spiral into depression, fights between loved ones, etc. Persecution will happen from those most dear to you. Division will happen amongst churches due to the people he strategically places in them. He is out to get you no matter the cost!
Lest not forget Jude 9 “But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, ‘The Lord rebuke you!”
You direspect Satan and he will out wit you. He is the most intellegent creature that has ever roamed the earth. It says “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty” (Ezekiel 28:12b). He will out smart you and me. But wait, there is hope. For only God knows our hearts and our thoughts. Satan and his demons can never know what we are thinking. Yes, they can place lies in our heads, but never know what we are thinking. AND…Satan is not omnipresent like God is. He can only be in one place at one time.
With all this to say, I’ve been in a warzone here. From sleepless nights to countless demons manifesting in high school girls, this has become my life.
