I started doing something I call role goals when I got on the race.  Now my team does it with me each month.  I wanted to share it with you because I really think it helps keep me stay focused in the areas I want to grow and God usually shows me things He expects from me too.   I don’t want to be the same person month to month.  I want to actively become the woman God wants me to be.  So here is what I do…

I start off my listing all the roles I play at this point in my life.  Mine are:
Jesus lover
Girlfriend
Daughter
Sister
Friend
Team member
Logistics coordinator

Under each one I leave space to write three goals.  These goals could be new things I want to do or ways I want to improve in that role.

Lastly, I make a goal in the categories of:
Mind
Body
Spirit

They might have to do with one of the goals under a role of yours but at least you can know you are keeping yourself fit in each area of life.

The Lord has been reiterating to me Mark 12: 28-31, “One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating.  Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength’.  The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’.  There is no commandment greater than these.”

I want to love God  and others with everything I have within me.  I want to be fit mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Setting up these “role goals” and body, mind, and spirit ones, helps me to be proactive about being fit in these areas.

Now I would love for you to take part too.  My race is kind of divided up into months and so doing it monthly works well for me.  When I set myself up for the next month I usually flip back and forth to see what needs to be carried over and where I can move forward.  If you decide to do a different time period that is totally cool! But it wouldn’t hurt to try it out! You might find you like having some challenges for yourself.  Let’s be mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually fit for Christ! Ow owww
