You may have noticed the Team Meno music video is about our team changing. We went in to month four with the certainty that it would be our last month as Team Meno. It had been hinted at and team changes often happen at this juncture. It seemed especially certain since one team was down to four members, while others had five or seven members. So indeed there have been team changes throughout our squad. My new team is Chasing the Deep. My team members are Carrie Owen, Heather Roush, Civanna Hoffman, Taylor Melchert, Jeff Strohschein, and our team leader, Chris Qualls.
I will miss Micah and Derek but I’m also really excited about Chasing the Deep. It will be a new team dynamic and a new season. We as a teamwant to go deeper in our relationships with one another, our ministry partners, and the Holy Spirit. We want to choose in to being vulnerable and open with one another.
God has been using water as an important symbol for me lately. Last month our camp was in front of a small lake. I went on the rowboat a couple times to sit with the Lord. He showed me how letting the wind and water take me where it wanted could be freeing. He reminded me how letting go is freeing. However, it takes choosing.
At debrief, Renee, our squad mentor, told me how the Lord was telling me to choose each day to jump in the river. I have to choose whether I’m going to be vulnerable. It may be scary, but I think it will be worth it.
Matt Wright, one of our squad coaches, gave a talk to our squad during debrief. He talked about skipping rocks. A lot of times we just barely go under the surface every now and then. He compared scuba diving to snorkeling. Let’s be honest, wouldn’t you much rather go scuba diving than snorkeling?! You get to see so much more and experience greater things the deeper you go!
So, as you can see God has been speaking to me through water metaphors.
In this new season with my new team I want to be more honest and vulnerable. I want to experience the depth of what God has for me! I want to dive in to the water and explore the depths!
Subsequently, I would like to give you all the chance to be a part of this new season with me in two ways.
