Hello!

I’m a simple, small town country girl who grew up working on our family farm in the Okanogan Valley of Washington State. Family means a lot to me, and I have a great one! It’s just the four of us: Dad, mom, my older brother Nick, and me. I credit God, my family, and friends for shaping me into the person I am today…..without them, I would be lost!

I actively pursue a passionate relationship with God. I’ve been through a lot of tough things, and I am proud to say that my faith has always brought me through, each time strengthening my relationships and making me a stronger woman of God! It’s so true that Jesus never fails us, and he has ALWAYS been there for me!

I am passionate about ministry! One of my ministries is mission work, and I have been extremely blessed to travel on missions over the last two summers. I’m constantly growing in Christ, and over the last few years I have learned a lot about who I am in Christ and where He is leading me. I have a HUGE heart for orphans and widows, and I’m super excited for the world race! I am active in my Church and often host and organize social events. I’m also involved in multiple charities.

When I’m not working hard, I like to play hard. I’ve always loved playing sports and enjoy watching football, particularly the Hawks and Oregon State Beavers! I enjoy the outdoors, and when I’m in nature I feel even closer to God! Growing up with a mountain as a backyard, I learned to enjoy hiking, camping, 4xing, hunting, fishing, and just driving around on dirt roads.

I’m adventurous, friendly yet sometimes shy, compassionate, dedicated, organized, and like to have fun 🙂 I have a huge fear of snakes…..and it’s my biggest fear about the world race experience! If you are my teammate, get ready to hear me scream and/or have me jump on you, haha!

I have several hobbies. I really enjoy all kinds of arts and crafts….I’m very creative! I enjoy learning how to cook, reading books, watching movies, photography, scrapbooking, and basically anything fun and relaxing.

I LOVE to travel and experience new things! The past few summers I have spent time traveling in Italy, Kenya, Hawaii, and Nicaragua. One of my favorite places to go and relax/rejuvinate is the ocean….which is why I’m a marine biologist/environmental scientist. I have a passion for education and I really enjoy working with people and seeing them grow in their learning, which is why my career is devoted to being an informal educator.

I recently graduated from Oregon State University with my Master’s of Science in Environmental Science with an education focus. While I was there I taught the 100 level biology labs and conducted my research at the Newport Aquarium. Prior to that I attended Western Washington University where I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Biology (marine biology focus) and a minor in Environmental Science.

This ‘About Me’ section is a work in progress….so please, if you want to get to know me better or have questions, feel free to contact me!
